The Boundaries of the Soul

Recycled materials: jute from a Father Christmas sack, scented dryer sheets, corrugated cardboard, bedsheet, wrapping paper, embroidered tights, wire, resin, acrylic, plaster.

The entanglements of everyday life give shape to an inner landscape made of fragments, contrasts and tactile memories.

Surfaces layer like scraps of experience — seams and wounds that mark the soul's lived history. The rough textures of jute and cardboard enter into dialogue with the softness of domestic fabrics, generating a fragile equilibrium between hardness and shelter, between protection and vulnerability.

Cracks and suture lines evoke the tension between closure and opening, between the desire to preserve oneself and the desire to cross the limits imposed by pain or fear. Matter becomes a symbolic language in which each fragment finds a new place and meaning.

The work invites us to contemplate the boundaries of the soul not as rigid barriers, but as porous thresholds — places of passage where memory, though wounded, opens to the possibility of rebirth.
